How to install osCommerce shipping module and enable shipping label generation

First step: Install and configure osCommerce shipping module

  1. Download the latest version of the integration module here
Please note that there are three modules packages. One is for shipping directly with UPS/Fedex (requires an account with the carrier) one is for shipping through eShipper and another one is for Canada Post.

  2. Depending on whether you have SSH access to your hosting account:
    • If you have SSH access to your account:
      - Copy the downloaded file into your osCommerce root folder (the folder where account.php file resides.) Sometimes it is called catalog.
      - Open SSH to your account and change directory to the osCommerce root folder
      - Type unzip osCommerce-way2ship.zip and press Enter

    • If you hosting provider does not allow SSH access:
      - Unzip the integration package to a new folder on your computer:

      - Open your favourite ftp client and connect to your hosting account. We recommend using FileZilla ftp client.
      - Starting from the root folder copy all the files in subfolders into the corresponding subfolder on your hosting account.
Important! Make sure you keep the directory structure intact so that files are copied into correct folders:

At this point all files are deployed and you are ready to configure osCommerce through Admin console.

  3. Configure the integration module
    • Log into your osCommerce administration console (www.yourwebsite.com/admin).
    • Click on Modules and then on Shipping. Note that there are five new shipping modules available. Click on Install button to install the modules.

    • USA: UPS and Fedex are supported through a direct integration (you need an account with the carrier). Fedex and DHL are supported through eShipper integration.
    • Canada: UPS and Fedex are supported through direct integration (you need an account with the carrier). Fedex, UPS and Purolator are supported through eShipper integration. Canada Post is also supported through a direct integration with EST.

    • If you downloaded the direct package you should see these highlighted modules

    • If you downloaded eShipper package  you should see these highlighted modules

    • Now click on Configuration and then on WayToShip. Note that there are new configuration fields available (marked).
Important! Make sure to fill in all necessary filed values (marked with *) for the module to function correctly:

    • At this point the module is configured and ready. Test the quotes coming from the demo account to make sure the module is functional by going trough checkout process. You should see something similar to this:

Now osCommerce integration is finished and operational.

  6. Place a test order on your website using one of the supported carriers.
Important! Do not forget to set the status of the order to the status you configured in the Ship orders with status field in osCommerce Shipping/Packaging options during Step 1.3 (Processing by default).
