Setting up Fedex with WayToShip

Below are step by step instructions on setting up your Fedex account with WayToShip

1. Generate Fedex Developer Key
2. Enter the developer key and credentials into Fedex configuration of WayToShip manager
3. Generate Fedex Production Key
4. Print 3 labels for each service you intend to use using the developer key and send to Fedex for certification
5. Enter the production key and credentials into Fedex configuration of WayToShip manager
6. Let us know you are switching to production

1. Generate Fedex Developer Key

Open: www.fedex.com/developer

Select Web Services in the drop down list and log in with your Fedex User ID and password.

Click on Develop & Test Your Application link

Click on Obtain Developer Test Key link

Fill in the application

 After filling in the application you will end up with four test credentials:

• Developer test key
• Test account
• Test meter
• Test password (coming from an email sent to you by Fedex)

2. Enter the developer key and credentials into Fedex configuration of WayToShip manager

Open: www.waytoship.com

Click on WayToShip Manager

Log in with your username or password or click on "Click here to register new account" if you don't have one yet

Fill in the test credentials and click on Save

3. Generate Fedex Production Key

Open: www.fedex.com/developer

Select Web Services in the drop down list and log in with your Fedex User ID and password.

Click on Develop & Test Your Application link

Click on Move To Production

Click on Obtain Production Key and fill in the form

After filling in the application you will end up with four production credentials:

• Authentication Key
• Account number
• Meter number
• Production Security Code - password (coming from an email sent to you by Fedex)

Please keep this information available for next two steps

4. Print 3 labels for each service you intend to use using the developer key and send to Fedex for certification

The final step in the FedEx Web Services certification process is a label evaluation. You have to create test labels for the specific services that are applicable to your situation. The FedEx Express, Ground, and Home Delivery label evaluation team requires three (3) test labels for each service you are going to use in production. These 3 labels can be simply 3 printouts of the same label. You can use any addresses/weights.

Please use WayToShip Manager to generate the labels for easy printing.
Assuming your cart integration is up and running simply place one test order for each service you are going to use and generate shipping labels by clicking on WayToShip Manager "Generate labels" button:

Print 3 copies of the generate labels on the printer you intend to use for production label printing.

Please download, fill in and print out the label certification cover sheet and mail the printed labels and the cover sheet with Fedex to:

Please note that labels for ground and express services should be mailed to two different location. Make sure include a cover sheet with each.

The certification process takes about 48 hours.

5. Enter the production key and credentials into Fedex configuration of WayToShip manager after your labels are approved

Open: www.waytoship.com

Click on WayToShip Manager

Log in with  your username or password

Fill in the production credentials and click on Save

6. Let us know that you are ready to switch to production
